We had a fun day of photo shoots! Ask your child about it!
All Students should be reading for 20-30 min each evening in addition to what they do at school.
Grade 7/8M, now have a second picture book to read — exciting stuff! Along with enjoying the story, they’ve also been given a new assignment to go with it.
Here’s what they need to do:
Think about why the author wrote each book.
Ask themselves: What could each book be used to teach?
This will help them to answer the big question:
“What was the author’s purpose for writing this book?”
Write their thoughts in a full sentence.
They should be ready to share their thoughts — they will be expected to dig a little deeper than just answering “to entertain”! or telling what happened in the book.
Again, I’d like students to have a courier bag. They are $1.50 at the Dollar store. A jumbo freezer bag would also work. This really helps with organization.
