Weekly Schedule

Added Sep 8, 2025

Sept. 8, 2025

As we begin a new week and return to Day 1, we’re excited to share our updated literacy routine! Each day of our 5-day cycle is focused on building important reading, writing, and word work skills in fun and meaningful ways.

Here’s what our weekly schedule looks like:

Day 1 & Day 3 – Writing Workshop

These days are all about growing as writers!

  • We’ll explore mini writing lessons, do some quick writing activities, and begin working on building strong sentences and organized paragraphs.
  • French Immersion (FI) students will have their Writing Workshop on Day 2

Day 2 & Day 4 – Reading Workshop

These are our reading-focused days.

  • We’ve started with Picture Book Reports to ease into the routine using short, engaging books.
  • Students will practice identifying the lesson or message in the story, preparing them for more in-depth book reports later on.
  • FI students will do their Reading Workshop on Day 4

Day 5 – Word Work Workshop

This day is all about building strong reading/spelling foundations.

  • We’ll focus on phonics, decoding strategies, and spelling skills.
  • These tools help students read unfamiliar words and understand what they’re reading more easily.

Home Reading Reminder

All students are expected to read at home each night.
Even 10–15 minutes of daily reading helps build fluency and confidence!

FI Class Update (6/7)

FI students started their Picture Book Reports today.
They are choosing a picture book and writing a complete sentence explaining the lesson or message of the story.
